I got Pandemic Legacy on October the 14th for my Birthday. Eric and I played it over the course of many days and go to finish it on the 31st. I (and I'm pretty sure he) enjoyed it thoroughly (As you can tell, by it taking the #1 spot on my favorite board game list).
The only problem with the game is that it has a limited shelf life. Once you beat the game it's over. (We won btw). So slowly, but surely it will fall down the ranks. The memories will always be there but we won't be able to continue the memories. (until Season 2 comes out(well, maybe, we actually know nothing about Season 2))
Now keep in mind that you are getting your moneys worth. You play between 12 and 24 games. (Even though I'm pretty sure it is impossible to get 12 games. (it would require winning 12 times in a row (which would be crazy))) We ended up playing 17 games in total.
Other things: Homework, Hearthstone, Homework, Grades, Board Games, and some more Homework. My schedule has been pretty packed as of late (and yet somehow I still make time to play a lot of Hearthstone). With four honors classes (one being Honors Biology, mind you) it has been pretty crazy. I have been able to keep my grades up and maintain a 4.0 GPA (without weight).
I still try and play board games and right now I really want to get more into Ashes: Rise of the Phoenixborn. If only I had more people to play with, we could have our own little meta. Ben and I play that every once in a while, but I want to play it more.

Dominion Box
My brother, Andrew, told me to post a photo or two of the Dominion box organizer thing a while back. Due to so much homework and me forgetting, I've only got to it just now. Anyway, here are the two photos.
Couple things we did differently than the organizer itself. First off, the Trash section is filled with blank cards and Event cards. Another thing was there was no place for extra curses so we just put it behind the other extra cards.
We put all the kingdom cards in the base box and all the Provinces, Golds, Coppers, Ruins etc. in the Guilds box.
We store the Adventures mats in the Guilds box.
Another thing we did was color code the tabs. For example we colored Reaction cards blue, Victory cards green, Treasure cards Gold/Yellow etc. We couldn't find a color for Reserve cards so we just left those alone.
One last thing, for all the cards we don't have we just left the organizer card in its place in case we get it later.

Boardgame List Redone
Dead of Winter is my new favorite game I guess. Dominion is number 2. Village is number 3.
Then it goes to the 3 games that are all similar but aren't quite the same. Hearthstone, Ashes, and Magic.
Hearthstone is different because you automatically get 1 more mana a turn.(unlike Magic where you have to have a mana in your hand.) And there are 9 classes. Each class with there own specific cards and power.
Ashes. Ashes is different because there is no mana ramp. Instead you start each round with 10 mana. Another thing that makes it different is the different phoenixborn(summoners). Each one has a different power, life total, Spellboard value(the amount of spells you can have), and Battlefield value.(the amount of units you can have on the board.) And each phoenixborn has a card that no one else can use.
Magic. Magic is different because there are no classes/phoenixborn. Any deck can have any card. You could look at magic as the original Collectible Card Game.(CCG)
Now the question is which do I prefer. Now that's the tricky thing. I like the gameplay for each game equally. So I rated them not on the gameplay but other things.
For example Hearthstone is rated the highest out of the 3 because it is an online card game. Meaning I can play whenever I want, not whenever other people want.
Then comes Ashes. Ashes is rated higher than Magic simply because it isn't a CCG. Instead it is a ECG(Expandable Card Game). Meaning that I don't have to waste money on buying cards, instead I just buy one thing and have the same cards as everyone else.
Wow that was a long explanation over the ratings of 3 games.
A few other changes. Terra Mystica has gone down. 7 Wonders has gone up. Mice and Mystics, Eldritch Horror and Summoner Wars have all gone down. Other than that there were only minor changes I believe.
One last thing to mention is that I added Flowers For Algernon to my Favorite Books list.

Found an Old SD Card PART 2
Wow I had a lot of birds. There were 372 photos on the SD card when I found it and at least 200 of them were pictures of birds. I ended up deleting about 95% of them.
Lots of Birds (in case you can't tell) |
Not only did I take pictures of living birds though, I also took pictures of dead ones.

Favorite Board/Card Game List Revamp
(Is revamp the right word?)
Anyway, my Favorite Board/Card Game List is going to go through some hefty changes. I've been putting this off but I think now is the time.
Over the course of... awhile... I've noticed I'm enjoying some games more and some games less. So naturally my favorite game list has to change.
For example, now that I have a storage solution to Dominion (would show a picture but my mom's camera is in Oregon with her) (Oh, and thanks for the help with the storage solution Andrew) I've been wanting to play Dominion way more often now. Before I would have to open 11 boxes, (well 8 without the Jamieson's stuff) look through all of them, pick which cards I wanted to play with, and then put all of the boxes away after a couple games. Now I can open 2 boxes, look through 1 box, and quickly pick the cards I wish to play with.
As you can tell Dominion is going to go up on my list.
Why am I choosing to do this now? Well, I've just bought a couple games. They are: Dead of Winter and Ashes: Rise of the Phoenixborn..... plus another Summoner Wars deck. Yea.... in total I spent 105 dollars. Originally I was just going to buy Ashes. But then Plaid Hat Games said I would get FREE shipping if I ordered $100 or more of games. I decided to splurge. (Don't judge! Do you know how much shipping costs?)
So my List will be updated when I play those two games enough to rank them.
But you'll have to wait a little while. Since I wanted to get Ashes cheaper I decided to pre-order it. (Cost 15 dollars less! Plus I'm going to get a promo!) Due to it being a pre-order I won't be receiving any of the games for a couple weeks. So you'll have to wait till then.

Found an old SD Card PART 1
I found my old SD card that I got with a camera many, many years back. I thought I would post some of the pictures and videos I found on it. I ended up using my mother's camera for most of the pictures since the camera I got didn't take quality photos.
I just looked at the photos and went down memory lane. I'm going to make several of these, each looking at a few of the photos. And now that I think about I might have already made blog posts on a couple of these a long time ago. But, I doubt you'll remember.
We'll start off with card building.
You can tell I didn't set the time on my camera. I'm pretty sure Thomas and I didn't build and break those card towers at 5 o'clock in the morning.

New Favorite list I've been thinking about
I've been thinking about doing new Favorite List. I've recently came up with the question: Who is your favorite Brandon Sanderson character? That would be the list.
The only characters that would be excluded would be the characters from Warbreaker, Legion, Infinity Blade, Wheel of Time and characters from his short fiction because I have not read any of those yet. (Well that not entirely true I have read a couple of his short fiction but they still won't be included(unless I really like them(i.e. Gemmel))) Oh, I also will only include characters that are pretty major. So no characters like Beldre or others(unless I really like them(e.g. Gemmel, Ham)). Naturally, I will put in the other characters from his other books when I read them.
This list is also going to be a little different than others since on the others I keep almost all of the things on the list no matter how long it gets. While on this list there are so many characters, I'm going to have to leave off tons of characters.
I'm going to replace the Favorite Animals list with this list to conserve space. My Favorite Animals never changes anyways but this list probably will.
I've already posted it so you can take a look. Do you have a favorite Brandon Sanderson book character? If so, who?
Also you may have noticed some changes to my Favorite Books and My Favorite Board Game list. Kingsburg, for example, jumped up from last to 7th with the expansion. It's not that the expansion suddenly made it a really good game or anything. Kingsburg was really good originally. But, it got stale. With the expansion it refreshed the game plus made it better.
I added three new books to the Favorite Books list. Just so you know, I'm not going to add the Reckoners series until I read Calamity. I don't know when I'm going to add the Stormlight archive though. I feel like I should went until the first five books come out, making the first series complete, but that is going to take a while soooo.... I'll add them whenever I feel like it.

Favorite Card/Board Games and Web Comics
Due to the 4 new board games we got, the favorite Card/Board Games list underwent some serious maintenance. And man that was difficult. I'm still not sure if I'm 100% satisfied with it yet. Some of the 'not new' games even switched around. For example, Pandemic is above Magic now and Summoner Wars is above T'zolkin. You can look at the list if you want to see all the changes. Of course now that I think about it you probably have already looked at the list.
On a different note, Eric has got me a little into Web Comics. I have already read two web comics 100% (Although both of them are shorter ones. Not like the ones that have been going on daily since 2001 or anything.) One of them is still going on (a new one posts whenever the author feels like it) while one has stopped for good. They are Nedroid and Minus(respectively). I'm currently reading Axe Cop. After that I'm going to read Gunnerkrigg Court. Oh, and somewhere in there I'm going to have to read Ask Axe Cop. After that I don't know, but right now I've got enough web comics to read.

International TableTop Day!
You may have read on my mother's blog that International TableTop Day is on April 11th. But due to cleaning the temple Eric and I are being forced to celebrate it on the 10th. We are going to be playing 24 hours of TableTop Board games straight, midnight to midnight. I'm a little disappointed that we won't be able to celebrate on International TableTop Day itself but I'm still very excited.
My mom said International TableTop Day is a "24 hour game marathon". That's not the whole story though. International TableTop Day is where internationally people play lots of TableTop games. Having a 24 hour game marathon is just a way a some people do it. Other people hold events or just have a normal day but with more TableTop board games involved.
Naturally Eric and I had to splurge our money on board games just so we could have even more board games to play during this 24 hour period. We pooled our money together and got 3 new games and 1 expansion. We got: Mice and Mystics, Eldritch Horror and King of Tokyo. The expansion we got was the Power Up! expansion for King of Tokyo. My mom also chipped in and bought Five Tribes.
Mice and Mystics is a co-operative story driven game with a campaign. In the game you were a human who got turned into a mouse. Eldritch Horror is another co-operative story driven game but it does not have a campaign. In the game you are going around the world trying to stop one of the "Ancient Ones" from awakening (Cthulhu theme). King of Tokyo is a light-hearted dice rolling game where you are monsters trying to be the king of Tokyo. With the Power Up! expansion each different monster has different powers only that monster can get. Five Tribes is a game based off of Moncala (I'm pretty sure that is what it is called). You pick up a group of meeples and drop them one by one until you get to the end result. Depending on what color the meeples are and what spot you ended on different things happen.
All of the games are coming on Tuesday but Eric and I have decided not to play the games until the 10th(except for Five Tribes which came a few days ago. (Naturally we have already 10 games of that.) We will pop out all the tokens and read the rule books so we will not have to waste time on the 10th though.
Sorry for making the post so long if you don't like the longer posts. Or, I guess if you do prefer the longer posts then your welcome.

Terra Mystica and other things
You may notice Terra Mystica has taken my number one spot on my favorite games list. The game is really great and with 14 factions has quite a bit of replayability. And that's without the expansion. With the expansion you get 6 more factions plus 2 new boards plus variable end game scoring. (we don't own the expansion(yet... I'll get it someday)) On a different topic I looked at my book talk post. I notice I said I knew 13th Reality would be on my favorite book list yet it never got up there. This is because the series(in my opinion) got worse and worse as the series went on. The series was good enough to continue and read decently quickly but I'm not sure if it deserves to be on my favorite book list. I really enjoyed the first book but other than that eh. You may also notice Village on the list now includes the expansion Village Inn yet it hasn't moved. This doesn't mean that Village Inn is a bad expansion; in fact I really enjoy it. But instead of beating the next game it just widened the gap between it and 7 Wonders.
